Dianetics technology was developed by L. Ron Hubbard. The word "Dianetics" is defined in the Scientology and Dianetics glossary as follows: "Dianetics spiritual healing technology. It addresses and handles the effects of the spirit on the body and can alleviate such things as unwanted sensations and emotions, accidents, injuries and psychosomatic illnesses (ones that are caused or aggravated by mental stress). Dianetics means 'through the soul' (from Greek dia, through, and nous, soul). It is further defined as 'what the soul is doing to the body.'"
The book that launched Dianetics was "Dianetics - The Modern Science of Mental Health". This book was first released in May 1950 and has sold well over 20 million copies since!
The anniversary of the launch of Dianetics is celebrated by Dianeticists and Scientologists all over the world through events at each Church of Scientology. At the event there is news of the ever increasing impact of Dianetics around the world and the successes of those using it.
Anybody can attend this event at their nearest Church of Scientology. Look for the nearest church to you at the Church Locator and contact staff there for the event date if you would like to attend or find out more. The events are also held at all Scientology missions.
